Pakistan Muslim League – N (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have said that they would block the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) conference, that is to be held on March 22-23 in Islamabad, if the National Assembly speaker delays the no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

While talking to the media along with Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that the opposition wanted the National Assembly session on Monday to begin with no-confidence motion, but if it is not done, they would stage a sit-in in the house. “We we see how you will then hold the OIC conference,” he said, during a press conference after a meeting of leaders of the joint opposition at Sharif’s residence in Islamabad.

Addressing National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, he said, “You should not become a worker of the PTI and think about the country and the OIC conference first.”
He accused the speaker of adopting an ‘undemocratic’ behaviour, saying that if he doesn’t listen to the opposition then he [Bilawal] would convince the whole opposition to stop the OIC.

Bilawal added that the opposition wants the OIC to be held as planned without any hindrance, “but it seems the government does not want that,” he said.
