Zardari Confident No-Confidence Motion Against PM Imran Will Succeed, Evolves Power-Sharing Formula
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has evolved a power-sharing agreement among the opposition parties in case the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan is successful.

The PPP leader shared the details of an agreement between his party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday while meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) MNA Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq, as reported by the Minute Mirror.

“The assemblies will not be dissolved after the success of the motion. The PPP will choose National Assembly speaker seat and will not be the part of Shehbaz Sharif’s federal cabinet,” Zardari reportedly explained.

Sources indicated that Zardari had named Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) MPA Chaudhry Parvez Elahi to replace Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Zardari met with the JI MNA to generate support for the opposition's plan to oust the incumbent government.

“Your [JI] vote has key importance for the success of our motion,” Zardari told the MNA, adding that he hoped to develop an alliance with JI in Karachi and throughout Sindh.

On Thursday, opposition leaders Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Maulana Fazlur Rahman, and Asif Ali Zardari met to discuss key provisions of the no-trust motion against the PTI government. At the meeting, Zardari was tasked with amassing support for the motion among parliamentarians.
