Rape, Murder Of Dadu Teenage Girl: Suspect Dies After Arrest
A man who was accused of abducting and murdering a teenage girl succumbed to injuries he sustained during his arrest and passed away in Dadu on Tuesday.

A 9-grade student, 16-year-old Nagina Chandio was abducted by her close relative, Mehtab Chandio, who took her to Balochistan where she was tortured to death by Mehtab and his friend, Shoukat Channa. Her body was found dumped in a deserted area near Sita Road town a few months after her abduction.

Main accused Mehtab Chandio was arrested by a police team headed by Sub-Inspector Ghulam Musttafa Pathan several days ago. The co-accused, Shoukat Channa, managed to initially evade arrest, but was later found in Balochistan, after his co-conspirator gave a tip to police.  During his arrest, Channa attempted to flee and was injured by police.  He was taken to the hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

Earlier, Mehtab Chandio told police that he and Shoukat Chaana had taken the girl to Balochistan after she had ‘eloped’ with him for contracting a marriage. He says that the student used to talk to him on the phone, and that he and his friend lured her to elope with him to get married. “We deceived the girl and took her to various places and then killed her and dumped her body in the grass near Sita Road town,” he says.

"Nagina requested us to kill her instead of handing over to her relatives,” Mehtab claimed, adding that both of the accused had raped the girl prior to murdering her.
