Govt To Take Action Against Those Spreading ‘Fake News’ About PM, First Lady
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill has denied reports that the prime minister and first lady are separated, confirming that 'both the First Lady and the Prime Minister are in Islamabad.'

Over the weekend, rumours about alleged marital problems between the PM Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi swirled, after it was reported that the First Lady had left the prime minister's residence in Bani Gala to stay with her friend, Farah Khan, in Lahore.

On Sunday, Farah Khan denied that Bushra Bibi was staying with her, taking to Twitter to state that the rumours were propaganda being spread against the Prime Minister and the First Lady. She also confirmed that the First Lady was home in Bani Gala. Farah Khan is a long-time personal confidant to the First Lady, often accompanying her on social welfare visits, among other matters.

Responding to the rumours, Dr Gill said, "Strict legal action will be taken against those who are still spreading false news about the First Lady."

He said: "In the past year, the first lady has only visited Lahore for one week.  She has not visited Lahore in the last few months and is staying in Islamabad."

Since their marriage in 2018, the inner workings of PM Imran Khan's marriage to Bushra Bibi, his former spiritual advisor, have captured national attention.  The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has denounced various allegations since, terming such speculations as an unfair intrusion into the prime minister's personal life.
