PM’s Aides Who Misled Him About Shahzad Akbar Should Be Sacked: Zulfi Bukhari
Former special assistant to the Prime Minister Zulfi Bukhari has said that officials who had told PM Imran Khan that his former accountability chief Shahzad Akbar was doing a good job should also be fired for misleading him.

"This would be wrong to throw only Shahzad Akbar under the bus. For three years when Akbar was in power, there were people around who presented reports to the premier that Akbar was doing a brilliant job. Those people should now come forward and they should be sacked too" Bukhari said before a crowd of businessmen at an event organized by Dr Muhammad Waqaas in London.

As reported by Geo TV, Bukhari speculated that Akbar may not have had enough experience to handle the principal role of accountability chief, or a good team, or a comprehensive understanding of the system at play.  Either way, Bukhari said that Akbar 'couldn't perform to the expectation of PM Imran Khan.'

Furthermore, he noted that as part of the PTI's platform 'people were expecting from us to at least bring back the looted wealth and if not repatriate the money then at least force the return of Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan,' a task that Akbar had failed to completed.

The former aide added that when given good information, he believed Prime Minister Imran Khan made good decisions.

"In any case, we should applaud the PM that as soon as he sees something failing and if he sees a shortcoming in anyone, be it Shahzad Akbar who was close to him, the PM takes action,” he said.
