Frustrated With Judicial Service, Sindh District Judge Tenders Resignation
District and Sessions Judge of Naushahro Feroze in Sindh Mahbub Allay Jawahery has abruptly tendered his resignation, saying that he sees 'no bright future' in the judicial service.

In his resignation letter, written to registrar of Sindh Court Karachi, the judge stated, "I have the honour to submit that I see no bright future in the judicial service, therefore, I hereby tender my resignation which may kindly be accepted at earliest."

After sending in his resignation letter, the judge further surprised the court by handing over his charge to his junior as he left. The reason behind the senior judge's decision to resign has baffled many in the legal fraternity of Sindh.

Lawyers from across the judge’s jurisdiction expressed their deep grief over the sudden resignation of Judge Jawahery and speaking to the Friday Times, said that he was one of the most ‘people-friendly’ judges on the bench, as well as an exemplary person himself.

Housh Mohamad Mangi, a senior lawyer from Sanghar district, expressed his surprise over the sudden departure by the senior judge, adding that Judge Jawahery was a person of ‘lofty principles’ who used his power to improve the welfare of the common people throughout his career.  The senior lawyer requested a review of Judge Jawahery’s decision and said that there would likely be a debate about the factors which had compelled the judge to tender his resignation.
