An article written by Prime Minister Imran Khan about the ‘Spirit of Riyasat-i-Madina’ has been criticized by the opposition, whose leaders have termed the prime minister’s thesis as an attempt to obfuscate economic and governance concerns with religion.
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said that he was ‘really concerned’ with the way the prime minister was ‘using religion as a cover-up for the massive governance and economic breakdown’ in the country.
Really concerned with the way Prime Minister is using religion as a cover-up for the massive governance & economic breakdown the country has suffered in decades due to his policies. Such a self-serving approach will wreak greater damage upon the polity than is being understood.

Akbar S. Babar, a founding but prodigal member of PTI, alleged that the ‘spirit of Riyasat-i-Madina’ rested on honoring the rule of law, but even that had already been broken during the incumbent administration.
“True, but that ‘spirit’ died and was buried on October 10, 2019 when the [Election Commission of Pakistan] in a written order termed the PTI’s delaying tactics in the foreign funding case as [a] ‘historic abuse of law’,” he said.
PM Imran Khan in an article published today claims; "Spirit of Riyasat-i-Madina" rests on rule of law.
True, but that "Spirit" died & was buried on October 10, 2019 when ECP in a written order termed PTI's delaying tactics in the Foreign Funding Case as "Historic Abuse of Law."

Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal claimed the premier’s cabinet was full of ‘crooked and corrupt politicians, cartels and mafias.’
“Sugar mafia, [flour] mafia, pharmaceutical mafia, furnace oil mafia, [dollar mafia], smugglers mafia [and] hoarding mafia are being patronised by your [government] Mr. Niazi. Who are you fooling?” he questioned.
All crooked & corrupt politicians, cartels & mafias are sitting in your cabinet under your Umbrella Mr. Imran Niazi. Imran Khan’s article, published in The Tribune on Monday, discuss the five basic tenants of Islam and calls for Pakistan to strive to embody these principals to achieve the country’s highest potential.
Explaining guiding principles of Riyasat-i-Madina as laid down by our Prophet PBUH creating the foundation of the greatest civilisation of all times. In Pak, to realize our potential today we have to struggle to embody these principles as a nation & state.https://t.co/U06hriykou
