Students at Lahore University of Management (LUMS) have called for an investigation into the university’s administration’s unfair policies after a student was expelled during his final year for giving tuitions. Hashtag ‘#InvestigateLUMS’ is being used across social media to call for an inquiry.
The student was expelled after the administration alleged that he had been helping other students cheat through organized tuition lessons and sharing notes. In response, many students questioned the validity of the administration’s findings and felt that the punishment was excessive.
“Harassers aren’t even given semester off and community hours are preferred but LUMS will ruin your entire career over a slight mistake. No chances given. This is how they hide the increasing incompetence in academia. Lums is failing its students once again,” wrote one student.
LUMS just expelled another student in a DC hearing because he gives tuitions and they assumed that he is running unethical ring to provide academic assistance. He was an NOP last semester, few years ago a student committed suicide in a simar case. we haven't forgotten Ubaid.

Many students shared their own experience at LUMS and other universities.
“I taught my way, O/A Level students, through my bachelor’s degree at IBA. Most of us, who did so, belong to low-middle income group and this is the only way they can assist parents for such expensive education. Such action is completely preposterous and condemnable,” one student shared.

Another student pointed out that LUMS had prejudiced students who do not come from privileged backgrounds.
“It’s usually the students coming from non-elite/financial aid backgrounds who are on the receiving end of insanely disproportionate punishments,” the student wrote
It's usually the students coming from non-elite/financial aid backgrounds who are on the receiving end of insanely disproportionate punishments. The consequences have been fatal in the past. The case of Obaid still haunts us. Have some empathy fgs! https://t.co/QXEi5IzYq3

It sounds perfect to me "He gives Tuitions" LUMS should have been appreciated him instead of doing such disgusting stuff they expelled him it shows the numb behavior of the reckless administration that's why they don't allow student politics but we need it now.#InvestigateLUMS https://t.co/MIy8cy7Q0M
