CM Murad Says Will Act Against Officials Who Facilitated Convict Shahrukh Jatoi’s Hospital Stay
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has vowed to find out who allowed convicted murderer Shahrukh Jatoi to be transferred from prison to a private hospital in Karachi, assuring of action against the officials involved.

A video recently leaked to the media purported to show Shahrukh living a 'lavish lifestyle' on the upper floors of a hospital in a room rented by his family. He had reportedly been living at the hospital for several months.

Chief Minister Shah affirmed that he would prosecute every official involved in the transfer, telling reporters, "I got to know about this yesterday; will order a full inquiry after I get back to Karachi." Several sources allege that a high official of Sindh had approved the convicted murderer's transfer.

Earlier, a hospital administrator told the media that the prisoner had since been released from the hospital and returned to prison.  He also reported that Shahrukh was escorted by policemen throughout his stay at the hospital.

Shahrukh Jatoi was convicted of gunning down Shahzeb Khan along with two coconspirators in Karachi in December 2012.

In 2018, chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar also found that Shahrukh was receiving 'B-class facilities' at the prison, and ordered the prisoner to be moved from 'VIP treatment' to a cell on death row.
