Actress Alizeh Shah has sparked outrage from misogynistic trolls after a video of her lighting up a cigarette behind the wheel of her car emerged on social media.
The actress, who is an adult woman, has previously come under fire for her short hair, for wearing a tank-top, for dancing, and for being a woman at the workplace.
The grainy recording shows Alizeh Shah smoking out of an open car window next to an unnamed friend. The video is seemingly taken in secret and without her consent.
The righteous and pious of Twitter have taken it upon themselves to revile the Lollywood starlet.
Alizeh Shah is the prime example of how the showbiz industry ruins you.

Others have come to the actress’s defense, pointing out that a Pakistani man would never be shamed for smoking. The outrage fueled by the video had led many to reckon once again with the ample double standards for men and women in Pakistan. Although she is a grown woman with a lucrative career, because she is a woman in Pakistan, her personal choices are seemingly always up for debate.
It's not only smoking it's about smoking weed 🧐

Females still cant smoke without being Xpozed. Besides gender discrimination, there's a weird class angle to smoking. Rich smoke to look cool. Poor smoke to stay active during hard labor https://t.co/C7tYaNT6f1
