Justice Ayesha Malik Nominated As Supreme Court Judge Once Again
Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed has once again proposed appointing Lahore High Court (LHC)'s Justice Ayesha Malik as a judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

CJP Gulzar has called a meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on January 6 to discuss Justice Ayesha's name as the SC judge.

This is the second time CJ Gulzar has recommended Justice Ayesha's name for the SC post. In September this year, the JCP meeting was held to discuss her nomination, but the members did not reach a consensus.

Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) Khalid Jawed Khan and Law Minister Dr Farogh Naseem were in favour of Justice Ayesha's nomination.

Justice Maqbool Baqar, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice (retd) Dost Muhammad Khan and Pakistan Bar Council representative in the JCP Akhtar Hussain had, on the other hand, stood against it.
