Mob In Lahore Attacks Man For Molesting A Child, Police Later Arrest Him
Police have arrested a suspected child molester after he was attacked by an angry mob of people which heard the screams of an eight-year-old girl who the suspect had lured into a room in Lahore’s Millat Park locality.

Police reached the crime scene and locked the suspect in a room while they tried to disperse the crowd. SP Iqbal Town Raza Tanveer said that the suspect, Zaheer, was being investigated and an FIR had been registered.

The police revealed that Zaheer has a history of such crimes and had spent two years in prison, around six years ago. Ever since he was released from jail, he had been living in the Millat Park area where the crime was committed.

CCTV footage of the incident showed a large number of people gathered in a street where the crime allegedly took place.

Sexual crimes against women and children are on the rise in the country. In August this year, a mother and her daughter, who were visiting Lahore from Okara, were sexually assaulted by a rickshaw driver near LDA Avenue. The accused, Umar, was arrested by the police after an FIR was registered at Chung police station. Police revealed that Umar is a habitual offender with cases registered against him in Okara and Haveli Lakhan.
