Estranged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen has denied allegations leveled by former PTI leader Justice (r) Wajihuddin Ahmed, that Tareen used to bear expenses, of up to Rs. 3 million monthly, for Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Banigala residence.
Tareen had been side-lined from the party ever since various cases against him came to light and were brought before the courts. Tareen is currently facing an inquiry by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) related to the sugar scam.
Earlier this year Prime Minister Imran Khan said, “I have never done any injustice with anyone. When I haven’t done it with any of my opponents, how will I do it with Jahangir Tareen?”
While talking to a news channel, Wajihuddin Ahmed had said, “This belief is completely false that Imran Khan is one [financially] honest man. His condition is such that he has not run his own household for years.”
He went on to say that the Jahangir Tareen group used to pay Rs. 3 million a month to run his house. He further said that the amount was increased to Rs. 5 million afterwards because the fixed amount of Rs. 3 million was not enough for Imran Khan’s residence.
