FIA Initiates Crackdown Against Banned TLP's Social Media Accounts
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched an operation against the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP)'s social media accounts.

The FIA claimed to have arrested two people during the operation in Lahore, Faisalabad, Nankana Sahab, Islamabad, and other cities of Punjab.

The statement said that those arrested uploaded hateful content and doctored photos on the internet through the banned outfit's social media handles.

The arrested individuals were identified as Shahzeb Nazeer, Naeem, Ayub, Muhammad Hussain, Muhammad Hassan, Ghulam Shabbir, and Hamza Sheikh.

Earlier, media reports suggested that Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad had asked the authorities concerned to initiate a crackdown on the social media accounts of the extremist group.
FIA sources were quoted as saying by various local publications that they received the orders, and that the action would be initiated starting Wednesday.

Meanwhile, thousands of workers of the banned TLP continue their long march to Islamabad after leaving Kamoke in the morning. Roads have been blocked due to the protest in surrounding areas and citizens are facing difficulties.

Dawn reported that around 4,000 workers of the outfit travelled on the GT Road by large trucks and buses. TLP workers holding sticks guarded the caravan.

GT Road has been blocked in Gujwanwala district since Wednesday. Mobile services have been blocked from Kamoke to Jehlum.

Earlier today, Rangers and police forces were deployed near the Chenab river and Wazirabad border. They aim to stop the TLP workers near the Wazirabad-Chenab river area, as per sources.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar chaired a high-level meeting and reviewed the security situation. He ordered the authorities concerned to ‘take every step possible’ for restoration of peace in the province, as per a statement released by the government.

The chief minister added that no group would be allowed to disrupt citizens’ lives, saying that the state is committed to protecting people’s lives and properties.
