Woman Attempts Suicide Outside Lahore Court Over Inability To Fight Legal Battle Against Husband Accused Of Raping Daughter
A woman attempted to commit suicide at a district court in Lahore on Tuesday, saying that she did not have enough money to fight the case against her husband, who is under arrest for allegedly raping their daughter.

The man named Nadeem Shah had reportedly been raping his own daughter. The victim was residing with him following a temporary separation between him and his wife, Kaneez Bibi.

The couple has five children, three of whom were living with their mother. Two daughters including the alleged victim were living with their father.

According to the FIR, a neighbour told the mother that the daughter was being sexually assaulted by her father. The girl said that her father had been sexually assaulting her for a long time and warned her against telling anyone.

The accused was arrested by the police and subsequently sent on judicial remand. He also filed for post arrest bail in the court.

During the court appearance, the complainant tried to take her own life by dousing herself with petrol. But police officials managed to rescue her in time. The complainant said that she did not have the means to afford a legal battle against her husband, alleging that he was trying to influence the kill and threatening to kill her and their daughter.
