PPP Clarifies Bilawal Did Not Attack Media, Statement Taken 'Out Of Context'
Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has responded to the backlash over its Chairperson Bilawal-Bhutto Zardari's statement about media engaging in character assassination. While addressing a rally on Sunday at Karachi’s Bagh-e-Jinnah, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had said that people should not listen to those barking against the PPP.

The PPP has clarified that the remarks were in no way targeted the media, and that the context should be understood.

Along with the clarification, the PPP released a video with a part from Bilawal's speech from the rally where he calls on the citizens not to fall for 'media's character assassination'.

As per the clarification video, Bilawal's statement was misconstrued and he did not mean that the media was engaging in character assassination, but that media was being unfairly maligned and the people should reject this practice.
