Gojra Motorway Rape: Young Woman Assaulted In Car, Left On Highway By Rapists

An 18-year-old woman was gang-raped on the M-4 motorway in Gojra.

According to the police, the young woman from Toba Tek Singh was lured by the suspects on the pretext of a job in a boutique in Gojra. The woman was raped in a car on the motorway and the suspects fled after throwing her at the Faisalabad Interchange.

Police say the suspects have been taken into custody.

According to the FIR, the survivor’s aunt said that the 18-year-old girl received a message on a mobile phone for a job interview in the city. She said that when they reached there, the suspects took the young woman with them in a car and later raped her on the motorway.

A medical exam of the survivor is being conducted and a DNA sample is being collected, police say.

A spokesperson of the Punjab police said that the main suspect was being interrogated, while a search is underway to find his accomplices.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Inspector-General Rao Sardar Ali also took notice of the incident.

The CM and IG have asked for reports from the Faisalabad RPO and ordered the immediate arrest of the suspects and legal action against them. The IG said that justice should be ensured for the victim on a priority basis.
