Asmat Adamjee and Zakir Jaffer Petition IHC For Annulment Of Indictment In Noor Mukadam Murder Case
Asmat Adamjee and Zakir Jaffer, parents of prime accused Zahir Jaffer in the murder case of Noor Mukadam, have sought an annulment of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) order indicting 12 individuals. A sessions court had fixed the date of the 14th of October for indictment of these suspects, who include the prime accused Zahir, his parents, three of their domestic staff and six employees of Therapy Works.

Charges were to be framed on the 6th of October, but the suspects had at that time filed petitions asking for some documents alongside a copy of the challan. In today's fresh petition, the parents of accused Zahir Jafer have stated that they require copies of the evidence against them, and also that their counsel be permitted four weeks to prepare a defence. Their petition also calls upon the IHC to direct the sessions court to grant them more time to prepare their defence.
