Coming Soon: Budget Carrier ‘Fly Jinnah’ To Ply The Skies

The launch of Fly Jinnah, a new low-cost airline for domestic and international flights is on the cards.

A statement issued on Friday said the new carrier will operate as a joint venture of Lakson Group and Air Arabia. It will follow the low-cost model operated by Air Arabia.

According to the statement, the new airline is meant to boost Pakistan’s travel and tourism sector. It also aims to “contribute to the country’s economic growth and job creation.”

Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed Air Arabia to Pakistan and wished the group success on his Twitter account.

“My government is committed to attracting investment in Pakistan’s burgeoning travel and tourism sector which offers immense opportunities,” he wrote.

Air Arabia operates from Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates, and has similar joint ventures in Abu Dhabi, Egypt, Morocco and Armenia. The airline has been expanding in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak last year as low-cost carriers bet on a post-pandemic surge in travel.
