11 Islamic State Terrorists Killed By CTD Personnel In Balochistan
At least 11 suspected terrorists from Islamic State (IS) were shot dead by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Mastung, Balochistan during a search operation on Monday night, a CTD official said.

Dawn quoted a spokesman for the department as saying that CTD personnel and other security men carried out a search operation in Mastung area, following receipt of an intelligence report hinting at the presence of the IS militants.

Upon reaching the site, the security forces sealed off the compound, asking the suspected terrorists to surrender. They however opened fire on the security personnel. In retaliatory firing, 11 alleged terrorists were killed in the compound, which was being used as a hideout, according to the CTD.

Further, a huge quantity of weapons was found from the compound. The CTD spokesman said that all the 11 slain men worked for the Islamic State.

This is the first major incident hinting at Islamic State terrorists' presence in Pakistan after the recent series of blasts at Kabul Airport for which the IS claimed responsibility.
