Commenting on European countries seeking Pakistan’s cooperation in evacuating people from Afghanistan, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry remarked, “Those who banned the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) are now seeking assistance from the same airline for evacuation of their people.”

Chaudhry was referring to the ban imposed on the country’s airline by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency in 2020.

Speaking to a press conference in Karachi, the federal information minister highlighted Pakistan’s role in evacuating foreigners and Afghans from Afghanistan, by air as well as through land borders.

He went on to emphasized that the world must acknowledge how the Pakistani government view of Afghanistan’s situation had been correct. “We hold credit for prudent analysis on the Afghan situation and what was earlier said by our prime minister is now a reality.”
