Ashraf Ghani's Brother Reportedly Pledges Allegiance To Taliban
Exiled Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s brother, Hashmat Ghani Ahmadzai, has reportedly announced his support for the Taliban.

International media reported that Hashmat Ghani Ahmadzai, who serves as the chief of the Grand Council of Kuchis, pleaded allegiance to the group in the presence of Taliban leader Khalil-ur-Rehman and cleric Mufti Mahmood Zakir.

An Afghan activist shared a video on Twitter purportedly showing Ahmadzai meeting the Taliban leader.

On Wednesday, Ashraf Ghani expressed the hope that he would return home, and said that he supported talks between the Taliban and former Afghan officials including Hamid Karzai. He had announced that he was in the Emirates so 'bloodshed is stopped', adding that he did not intend to live in exile.
