Bitter disappointment

Sad to say but Billy The Kid has proved to be a bitter disappointment to many players on the stage, if the wags are to be believed. We hear he delivered a sharp rebuke to old stalwarts, including an erstwhile premier, for not withdrawing from the bye-elections held in May in the central Punjabi town of Khushab. The once mighty Party of the People came in 7th, and polled a measly 235 votes in all. Ye olde stalwarts, however, were taken aback, not expecting to be called out in that shrill manner. There is much heartburning still, on that score. Also put out is The Man of Steel’s heir, who would hear not a word against Billy The Kid – until the combined opposition was done in and the wind taken out of their sails. She once famously said, “he is my brother and I will not countenance any criticism of him”. This was to naysayers in her own ranks who cautioned her on Billy’s own agenda, which was to follow The Boyz’ plan to defang the opposition.

Fall from grace

There is still some speculation on why the doc who ran The Great Khan’s economy until recently, was shown the door. Especially since they also claim in the same voice that his work has yielded dividends. Our mole says the good doc went a step too far and fell from grace when he unilaterally agreed to the I Am Effed hike in petroleum prices, without so much as a by your leave. Others say The Great Khan caught a whiff of his ambitious self-promotion with The Powers That Be – “impeccable foreign credentials, hailing from a minority province, incorruptible, experienced etc.”

For a rainy day

While The Man of Steel’s Talented Bro has a well-deserved reprieve from prison, we hear The Great Khan is anxious that he be made a guest of the state again. He told confidantes that his main targets are “MSS and SKA”, the two men in The Man of Steel’s band who can replace him. This is because he knows they have the approval of The Boyz. So, while The Boyz want to “save” Messrs MSS and SKA for a rainy day, The Khan is anxious to get going on their cases again.
