Thanks, but no thanks
Following her public fracas on prime time television with a fellow politician, Paradise Lover ran into problems with her party leader. We hear The Great Khan tried to ease her out via a novel proposition, backed as she is by the Home Department. He proposed that she resign from her post as the spokesperson of Takht Lahore and contest the scheduled by-elections to a provincial assembly seat in Sialkot. Paradise Lover refused to do so, saying that she did not wish to contest elections more than half way through the government’s term and preferred to carry on in her present position. At a loss, The Great Khan then proposed that she step down from her spokesmanship briefly to “oversee” the Sialkot election campaign but Paradise Lover didn’t take that bait either.
Detractors in DC
A normally tight-lipped FO diplomat was in an expansive mood recently. The venue was a well-lubricated soiree in Isbad, where a select few had been invited of an evening. The diplomat revealed the “real reasons” for the radio silence from the 46th President of the United States viz a viz his counterpart, The Great Khan here in the Land of The Pure. It’s no secret that there has been zero communication between the two since the President’s inauguration in January. And it is no wonder, said the loquacious diplomat, for our highest adjudicators thought fit to acquit Daniel Pearl’s alleged murderer a day before the President’s inauguration and The Boyz followed that up by test firing a nuclear capable missile into the heavens. Gone are the days when we were amongst the chosen ones; we are now way down on the food chain and all our “transgressions” are grist for the mills of our detractors in DC.
Paranoia reigns supreme
Believe it or not, after ALL they’ve done to prop up his regime, The Great Khan is still paranoid about what The Boyz are planning. His inner cabal is convinced that the brawl in Parliament is part of a devious plot to disable the passing of the Finance Bill. Should this come to pass, it will mean that the government has lost its majority and new elections have to be called. That is why we hear frequent threats from The Khan’s cabal – “he will dissolve the Assemblies but will not be blackmailed”. That is also why The Khan is trying his best to send The Man of Steel’s Talented Bro back to the slammer. It’s going to be a long, hot summer.
