Nothing ventured …

We can only guess at why Billy The Kid was so keen to meet The Man of Steel’s Talented Bro in the clink. Ostensibly it was to condole his mother’s demise. But behind the scenes, the late lamented Big Ben’s heir is trying to avoid a showdown with The Boyz. His reasoning is that the Opposition may lose big time, instead of winning big. The Man of Steel and his heir’s reckoning, on the other hand, is “we have nothing to lose. And nothing ventured, nothing gained”.

Our mole now informs us, that hot on the heels of his meeting with Talented Bro, Billy The Kid has expressed a desire to meet The Man of Steel. He says he is willing to fly out to London at a moment’s notice, if a meeting can be set up.

At loggerheads

The recently anointed Min of Int, aka The Sheikh of Lal Haveli, appears to be at loggerheads with another “accountability” tsar. This has happened even before the ink on his appointment letter has dried. And the point of contention appears to be the infamous Fed Inv Agency. The Sheikh thinks he should be calling the shots there, whereas the other Accountability Tsar has already been given oversight of the Agency by none other than The Great Khan himself. So, the scene is set for more wrangling and more confusion.

Frosty reception

Talking of The Sheikh of Lal Haveli, we hear he got a frosty reception when he went over to his new ministry to take charge. The previous incumbent was in his office when The Sheikh arrived with his usual entourage – a full-fledged social media team, photographer, videographer and various other hangers-on. The incumbent, known for his mercurial temper, was angered when the photographer started clicking away and the videographer prepared to shoot. “How dare you march in like this and start taking pictures without my permission?” he asked angrily. The Sheikh of Lal Haveli told his team to desist; the incumbent said that he needed to sign off on something, which he did. There was a brief handing over and taking over and a few terse words were exchanged. After this, the previous incumbent made to leave the room. The Sheikh, we hear, followed him to the lift with no verbal exchange taking place. And so it ended.
