Uniforms in flux
Daily Dunya (12 March 2019) reported that the decision has been made to eliminate black from the uniform of the Punjab police. The jersey, jacket and cap are now supposed to be blue, and an older order for 40,000 jackets has been cancelled.
Marriyum’s advice
The PML-N’s Marriyum Aurangzeb, according to Daily Dunya (12 March 2019), advised Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry to worry about his own powers rather than about others. She further stated that his “number” was about to come – so he ought to either save his job or look for a new party.
Tax net
It was reported by Daily Dunya (12 March 2019) that CM Punjab Usman Buzdar had decided to permit tax non-filers to acquire bigger cars – and that they are now permitted to buy cars up to 5,000 cc.
Rage
Daily Jang (12 March 2019) reported that MNAs from the Muttahida Majlis e Amal (MMA) expressed their severe disapproval for the Aurat March organized in Islamabad for International Womens’ Day. They termed the march and the slogans associated with it “extremely shameful” (intihai sharamnak). Furthermore, they described it as an attempt to promote shamelessness and to destroy the family system and social values. They also called for action against the organizers.
Inside job?
It was reported by Daily Jang (12 March 2019) that a resident of Hyderabad received a call from the toll-free number of Habib Bank, asking for his account details. He first refused, but on repeatedly getting calls from the bank, he eventually divulged the information. On checking his account next day, he found that all the money in it (79,000 rupees) was gone.
Debacle for Dasti
Former MNA Jamshed Dasti, accoring to Daily Dunya (13 March 2019), appeared for the first part of LLB annual examinations and failed all subjects.
Once tensions reduce...
The PTI’s Shafqat Mehmood was quoted by Daily Jang (13 March 2019) as saying that the tense atmosphere in the Assembly had been created by the attitude of the Opposition. He went on to note that PM Imran Khan could visit to check on Nawaz Sharif’s health once the tension subsided.

Daily Express (14 March 2019) reported that Indian journalist Sagrika Kissu was receiving threats for having offered lodging and assistance to Kashmiri students at risk of communal violence.
Hardliner
PM Imran Khan was quoted by Daily Dunya (16 March 2019) as saying that he could talk to Indian PM Narendra Modi but he could never reach a compromise with “those who engage in corruption”.
Khwaja Asif on banditry
The PML-N’s Khwaja Asif, according to Daily Express (17 March 2019), expressed his view that PM Imran Khan was a great patron of bandits (daku’on ka barra sar-parast hai) and that his administration had become a place of refuge for them.
