Student: An elephant.
Teacher: Idiot! What kind of family do you come from?
Student: My mum’s in the PTI, my dad’s a judge and my uncle is a general.
Teacher: Brilliant boy! Indeed, elephants are the fastest birds. There were three sitting on my wall yesterday.
Daddy’s domain
Despite the fact that young Bill is the acceptable face of the late, much-missed Big Ben’s party, we hear he will not be giving out party tickets for the forthcoming elections. That’ll be Daddy’s domain again. We also hear that Bill has taken exception to some of Daddy’s machinations but the latter has argued that he is simply clawing back some of the space hijacked by The Man of Steel & Co. Daddy’s also told his son, “it’s now or never”.
Reign of the doctors
Our mole says the reign of the doctors is about to start, when Parliament is packed off and the interregnum begins. A doctor for the top slot, former head of the Bank of the State; a doctor for the economy, former head of the same under Mush; a doctor for the next most important ministry, more of the same.
In a funk
Apart from his other headaches, The Man of Steel has to cope with at least two members of his inner circle, who’re in a funk. MM has apparently been placated and will no longer tweet her differences publicly. But Danny’s issue is complicated; his constituency has been emasculated in the new delimitations and if the ticket choice is between him and the distinguished Min of Int, no prizes for guessing who’ll get it.
