According to Daily Jang (06 November 2017), analyst Hassan Nisar is of the opinion that until the system is washed with acid, Pakistan would have no future. He further stated, according to the report, that Pakistan would have to be 11 times harsher than Saudi Arabia against corruption.

Daily Jang (06 November 2017) reported that after Reham Khan posted pictures of herself wearing a traditional burqa on social media, they went viral. The report stated that she also posted a picture in side pose, with the burqa, asking followers to guess who it was in the image.

It was reported by Daily Dunya (07 November 2017) that a fine worth Rs. 200 led to an altercation between lawyers and traffic police wardens. This situation led to more lawyers showing up at the scene and blocking the road near Lahore’s Governor House in protest.

It was reported by Daily Jang (07 November 2017) that the authorities in Lahore apprehended 4 men, who, posing as fake National Accountability Bureau (NAB) personnel, had deprived a citizen of Rs. 4.4 million (44 lacs).

According to Daily Dunya (07 November 2017), Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif reprimanded officials of the environmental and other relevant departments in the province for not having taken sufficient steps in advance to deal with the smog situation. He asked why it was that they woke up only when the crisis was on their heads. He was reportedly annoyed that the official smog policy from the relevant authorities had been published in English.

Daily Jang (07 November 2017) quoted the MQM’s Kamran Akhtar as having stated in the Sindh Assembly that due to unaffordable prices, husbands were starting to give their wives tomatoes as gifts.


High-altitude punishment


According to Daily Express (08 November 2017), an Iranian woman on a flight from Doha in Qatar to Bali, Indonesia, put her sleepy husband’s finger on his cellular phone and thus unlocked the device without him realising it. Having found proof of his infidelity on the phone, she proceeded to beat him on the flight, and even dealt out blows to passengers who tried to intervene. The flight had to be landed at Chennai, India, due to the difficulty of restoring order on the aircraft.
