Breaking the silence
The #MeToo movement is gaining ground with women breaking their silence to reveal sexual harassment and abuse. The latest to do so is a famous German MTV presenter, known for her work, her books, her conversion to Islam and her one-time relationship with The Great Khan. According to sources, the presenter has alleged that she was invited to Isloo by The Khan three years ago, and was harassed by his colleagues. She is quoted to have named an On-Off gent as having “first passed sexist comments and then asked her to spend the night in his room”. The presenter says she refused his advances, at which point the gent made inappropriate moves. She says she reported the harrasment to The Great Khan whereupon the On-Off gent “threatened to throw acid on her face”. The presenter said The Khan didn’t take her seriously and asked her to ignore his colleague’s advances.
Bad egg
After his disqualification, The Man of Steel held a presser in Isloo, late September. Amongst the media men present was a sympathizer who has struggled courageously for democracy. He was dismayed to see, in the forefront of The Man’s entourage, a bad egg who cost the government its position back in the day and who was known for his brutality towards the press. At the close of the millennium, with The Man firmly in the saddle, this gent, then a Senator, had become the government’s eyes and ears. He ordered raids into journalists’ homes, arrests without warrant, physical assaults, unleashing of the “tax” authorities, bringing the largest media house to its knees with its flagship newspaper down to one page and unrelenting harassment. This cost The Man international goodwill, and defeat in the then Supreme Court which ruled in favour of the harassed press. The former Senator’s conduct also made Mush’s job easier in 1999. The crusading journo made enquiries about the former Senator’s return and discovered that he is amongst The Man’s closest advisors these days.
