Unguided missile

Every now and then, our titular head of state goes off like an unguided missile. Readers will recall a recent statement from him in which he criticized those who run the power sector in this country. Isloo’s wags are saying there’s a reason behind his rant. Apparently, he asked for an official of a power distribution company to be replaced by his nominee. The minister concerned turned a deaf ear, hence the tirade.

Working out

Having flown the coop, our favourite model-cum-actress has taken up residence in her uber expensive apartment in Burj Al-Khalifa in that gaudy Emirate, and is living it up. She had put on weight during her trials and tribulations, and is now working out assiduously in a high-tech gym. We hear she has also doubled her charges for modeling and acting in serials. Her would-be employers are lining up with contracts.

Mounting tension

There can be no argument that SMQ is possibly the most seasoned politician in The Great Khan’s horde. But his counsel goes unheeded. We’ve heard that he argued insistently for The Khan’s inclusion in the All Parties Conference convened by the PPP on the extension of military courts, but was rebuffed. Since then, he’s shared his anguish with that other anointed custodian of Sindh’s great shrine. The problem is, there are no solutions, given The Khan’s dependence on SMQ’s detractors.
