‘Kidnapped boy’ found hidden by parents
Jang reports (May 7, 2015) a 10-year-old boy whose parents reported him abducted by his boss at an automobile workshop was found at the house of his relatives, where they had hidden him.
Police catches police with liquor
Reported in Dunya (May 7, 2015) police in Lahore caught two of their colleagues a constable and a traffic warden carrying four bottles of liquor. They were detained in the lockup.

Dog killing team fires at children
According to Nawa-e-Waqt (May 8, 2015), when a city administration team that kills stray dogs (kutta mar team) fired at a dog, they accidentally hit two children, injuring them with pellets. Three members of the team were arrested.
‘Abducted officer’ was arrested by FIA
Reported in Express (May 9, 2015) a senior officer of the Mines Department was reported abducted by two unidentified men in a black car in Lahore. While the police were investigating, they received a phone call from his number, in which the FIA told them they had arrested him and taken him to Islamabad for leaving the country without a no-objection-certificate.
Tardy PIA passenger angers Khwaja Asif
When a passenger of defence minister Khwaja Asif’s Dubai-bound flight showed up late, he became angry and asked the staff to offload him, reports Jang (May 10, 2015). The PIA staff told him the man’s stomach was upset and he was in the bathroom. Amid requests (mintain) by the crew and the other passengers, he relented. The flight was delayed by an hour and 20 minutes.
Museum officer runs over traffic cop
Dunya says (May 12, 2015) an official of the Lahore Museum ran over a traffic warden who tried to stop her for tinted car windows. The cop was injured, and taken to a hospital.
Pretty beggars attack Shorkot
According to Nai Baat (May 11, 2015) pretty beggars have attacked the markets of Shorkot (bhikari haseenaaon ki yalghaar), where they pretend to beg but rob people, steal women’s purses, and lead young men astray. People have demanded that the city administration rid them of the women (jaan churrai jaye).
No parking
Jang claims (May 13, 2015) a senior government officer parked his car in the middle of the Model Town Link Road in Lahore. When the traffic warden stopped him, he abused him. When passers-by tried to intervene, he fled (faraar).
Wedding guests fire at police
Reported in Nawa-e-Waqt (May 13, 2015) when a team of policeman tried to stop wedding guests in Rawalpindi from firing in the air, they started firing at the police. Some guests threw stones at them, and others beat them up, ripping their uniforms and snatching their motorcycles. Twelve people, including the bridegroom, were arrested.

According to Express (May 13, 2015) two con men (nau sar baaz) at Islamabad airport wearing uniforms robbed a woman going to Saudi Arabia. They scanned her purse, which had Rs 200,000 in it. They said she could only travel if she converted them into Riyals. Then they gave her only 3,167 Riyals for Rs 200,000.
Traffic warden angers minister’s son
Nawa-e-Waqt reports (May 14, 2015) a minister’s son was talking on his mobile phone while driving in Gujranwala. When the traffic police stopped him, he began to argue (talkh kalami). The cop fined him Rs 800. The boy (sahibzada) declined to pay the fine and left the car with them. Senior officials arrived at the site later, paid the fine, took the car, and left while threatening him (sangeen nataij bhugatnay ki dhamkiyan).
