Mrs Kennedy flies PIA (1962)
Jacqueline Kennedy's autographed picture from 1962, presented to Captain MM Salehjee after traveling on a PIA flight from New York to London.

Pakistan International Airlines began its journey on a promising note in 1955, but it was under Air Marshal Nur Khan that it became one of the best airlines in the world. It began its trans-Atlantic service with a Boeing 707 wet-leased from PanAm. Mrs Kennedy chose PIA over other airlines and became friends with many of its crew members.

After disembarking at Heathrow, she embraced the pilot Capt Salehjee, who was later elected president of the Pakistan Airline Pilots Association in 1968.
