School of Agriculture, Faisalabad (1906)
A rare photograph taken circa 1906 shows the School of Agriculture in Lyallpur, not too long after it was founded.

The building is now known as the Old Campus of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and is known for its traditional Islamic architecture. It was the first institution of higher education in Agriculture in Punjab.

After the region now comprising the district of Faisalabad was irrigated with a network of canals and barrages, the town of Lyallpur was developed around 1880.

The name of the town was changed to Faisalabad in 1977, after the late King Faisal of Saudi Arabia.
